Bathroom Trio (individually Bathroom Bats, Bathroom Snakes, and Bathroom Rats) is a series of three watercolour, pencil crayon and felt pen paintings (7.5x9.5) on mineral paper.
My obsession with people’s homes, both the idealized versions online versus the untidy reality and the cyclical extremes of home trends and advertising, continues to inspire me. For this series I got lost in a Pinterest rabbit hole of 1930s through 40s bathrooms. You can see the extra dental sink that was marketed briefly in the Bathroom Rats piece. For a little discord, and in the spirit of more is more, each bathroom is inhabited by critters that belong outside.
